How we check reviews
- You need a Tradeaze account, and email accounts must confirm their address first.
- Each account can review a business once.
- Tradespeople can’t review their own listing.
- A person on our team reads every review before it’s published. Nothing goes live automatically.
- A review only counts towards a star rating once it’s approved — a pending review can’t move anyone’s score.
We can’t confirm that every reviewer actually hired the business, so we look for reviews that read like real first-hand experience, and we act on reports.
What we publish
Honest, first-hand reviews — good, bad or in between. We don’t remove a review because the business doesn’t like it, and we don’t let businesses pay to hide reviews. A helpful review says what the job was, how it went, and whether you’d hire them again.
What we don’t publish
- Reviews of work you didn’t have done, or second-hand stories.
- Reviews from the business owner, staff, family, or a competitor.
- Reviews written in return for payment, a discount or any other reward.
- Abuse, threats, hate speech, discrimination or swearing aimed at a person.
- Personal details — phone numbers, addresses, or names of people other than the business.
- Allegations of crimes. Report those to An Garda Síochána or the PSNI instead.
- Advertising, links, or anything unrelated to the work.
If we don’t publish your review, we’ll email you and tell you why.
For tradespeople
- You’ll get an email when someone reviews you, and again when it’s published.
- You can post one public reply to each review from your dashboard. Keep it professional.
- Asking happy customers to leave a review is fine. Offering anything in return, writing reviews yourself, or pressuring customers to change a review is not — and can get your listing removed.
Reporting a review
If you think a published review breaks these guidelines, email support@tradeaze.ie with the business name and the review, or use the contact page. We’ll look at it and let you know what we decide.
