1. About these terms
Tradeaze (“Tradeaze”, “we”, “us”) runs the website at tradeaze.ie. These terms, together with our privacy policy, cookie policy and review guidelines, form the agreement between you and us.
If you don’t agree to these terms, please don’t use Tradeaze.
2. Accounts
- You must be 18 or over to create an account, list a business or leave a review.
- Give us accurate details and keep them up to date. One person, one account — don’t share your account or create accounts for other people without their permission.
- Keep your password safe. You’re responsible for what happens under your account; tell us straight away at support@tradeaze.ie if you think someone else has used it.
- If you sign in with Google, Google’s own terms also apply to that sign-in.
3. What Tradeaze is — and isn’t
Tradeaze is a directory. Tradespeople pay to advertise their business, and anyone can search those listings by trade and county and contact the business directly.
- We are not a party to any job. Any quote, contract, payment, guarantee or dispute is between you and the tradesperson. We don’t take payment for jobs and we take no commission.
- We don’t employ, supervise or endorse tradespeople. A listing appearing on Tradeaze, or appearing first, is not a recommendation.
- What the badges mean. An “Insurance checked”, “Tax cleared” or “SEAI registered” badge means our team has seen a document that appeared current when we checked it. It is not a guarantee that cover is still in force or that it covers your job — ask to see current documents before work starts.
- Always agree a written quote, check that the tradesperson holds any registration their trade requires by law (for example Safe Electric/RECI for electrical work, or RGII or Gas Safe for gas work), and never pay large sums upfront in cash.
4. Finding a trade
Searching Tradeaze and contacting tradespeople is free. A free account lets you save tradespeople and leave reviews. You agree to use the details you see on a listing only to contact that business about work you want done.
5. Listing your business
If you list a business on Tradeaze, you confirm that:
- the business is real, you’re authorised to act for it, and it is legally entitled to carry out the work you advertise — including holding any licence, registration or insurance the law requires for your trade;
- everything in your listing is accurate and not misleading, including your trades, the counties you cover and your years of experience;
- the photos are of work you or your business actually carried out, and you have the right to publish them (no stock photos or other people’s work presented as yours);
- any documents you upload for verification are genuine, current and belong to your business.
We check listings and may ask for changes, decline a listing, recategorise it, or remove content that breaks these terms. Depending on our settings a listing may be published as soon as payment clears or after an admin approves it; either way we can review it at any time afterwards.
Uploaded verification documents are stored privately, seen only by our team, and never shown to the public.
6. Fees, renewal and cancelling
- A listing costs €25 a month or €240 a year, paid in advance. Prices include VAT where VAT applies. Payments are processed by Stripe; a receipt is issued for every payment.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each month or year until you cancel. We’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice by email before any price change applies to you.
- Cancel any time from Billing in your dashboard. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your listing stays live until the end of the period you’ve paid for. We don’t refund part-used periods.
- You can instead pay once for a month or a year. A one-off payment covers that fixed period and doesn’t renew; paying again adds another month or year. We’ll email you a week before it runs out. If it isn’t renewed, your listing stays up for 7 more days and is then hidden until it’s paid — your account, profile and photos are kept. Paying during those 7 days extends from the original end date. As with subscriptions, we don’t refund unused time.
- If a payment fails, your listing is hidden until it’s paid. Your details and photos are kept so you can resubscribe.
- You buy a listing in the course of your business, so the consumer 14-day cooling-off right doesn’t apply to listing fees.
- If we suspend or remove a listing because it broke these terms, we won’t refund the fee. If we remove a listing for any other reason, or close Tradeaze, we’ll refund the unused full months of your current period.
7. Reviews
Anyone with a Tradeaze account and a confirmed email address can review a listed business, once per business. Every review is read by our team and published only if it follows our review guidelines. In short:
- Review only work you had done, and describe your own experience honestly.
- Don’t review your own business, a business you’re connected with, or a competitor — and don’t accept or offer payment, discounts or anything else in return for a review.
- No abuse, threats, discrimination, personal details or claims you know to be false.
Tradespeople may reply publicly to reviews of their business. Tradespeople must not pressure customers over reviews or post reviews of themselves. Reviews are the opinion of their author, not of Tradeaze. We don’t remove a review just because it is negative.
8. Enquiries
Enquiries sent through a listing are passed to that business by email and kept in its dashboard. Tradespeople may use an enquirer’s details only to respond about the work requested — not for marketing, and never passed on to anyone else.
9. Acceptable use
You must not:
- post anything unlawful, false, misleading, defamatory, abusive or infringing;
- impersonate another person or business;
- send spam or unsolicited marketing through the site;
- copy, scrape or harvest listings, reviews or contact details by automated means, or use them to build another directory or mailing list;
- interfere with the site’s security, test it for vulnerabilities without our written permission, or try to get around moderation, bans or rate limits;
- use Tradeaze for anything illegal.
If we believe the site is being used for illegal activity, we may share relevant account information with An Garda Síochána, the Police Service of Northern Ireland or other authorities where the law requires or allows it.
10. Your content
You keep ownership of what you post — listing text, photos, reviews and replies. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, reformat and share that content to run and promote Tradeaze (for example, showing a listing photo when we share a page on social media), for as long as it is on the site. You confirm you have the rights to grant this.
11. Our content
The Tradeaze name, logo and the design of the site belong to us. Please don’t use them without our permission, other than to link to your own listing.
12. Suspension and closing your account
We may suspend or close an account, or remove a listing or review, if we reasonably believe these terms have been broken, to protect other users, or where the law requires it. We’ll tell you why where we can.
You can close your account at any time from Account settings. Closing an account cancels any listing subscription and deletes your account, listing, photos, reviews and saved trades. We keep payment records for as long as tax law requires (see the privacy policy).
13. Liability
Tradeaze is provided “as is”. We work hard to keep it accurate and available, but we can’t promise it will always be error-free or uninterrupted.
We are not responsible for the work, conduct, pricing or quality of any tradesperson, for anything agreed between you and them, or for the content of listings and reviews written by others. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profits or business. For tradespeople, our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the listing fees you paid us in that period.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t legally be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud — or affects your statutory rights as a consumer under Irish and EU law or, if you live in Northern Ireland, UK law.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the Irish courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living in Northern Ireland, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws there and may bring proceedings in the Northern Ireland courts.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Tradeaze changes. We’ll update the date at the top, and for significant changes we’ll email account holders before they take effect. Using Tradeaze after a change means you accept the updated terms.
16. Contact
